Net Barrier X4 is without a doubt the premiere firewall for Mac OS X. With such an easy to use and intuitive interface it makes using the program very enjoyable. Setup is an absolute breeze as you can select one of the pre-configured profiles or customize rules to fit your security needs. If you want to launch the Net Barrier X4 interface simply access it via the icon that is placed up in the menu bar by the clock which also allows you to check for updates.
You can set a minimum level of protection or a fort knox level of protection and anywhere in between to fulfill your security needs. I have found that the default settings offer a great deal of protection and which is where I had left them.
Though Mac OS X is clearly a more secure operating system than Microsoft Windows having Net Barrier X4 provides you with that extra sense of security and reassures you that your system is safe from attackers. Content Barrier X4 is a great program to restrict computer use and internet access. it has a very simple and intuitive interface which makes it very easy to setup your restrictions. If you want to launch the Content Barrier X4 interface simply access it via the icon that is placed up in the menu bar by the clock which also allows you to check for updates.

Personal Antispam X4 is a simple and great way to filter your email for spam. It has a nice clean, simple and easy to use interface. Personal Antispam X4 does not really require much setting up once installed as it is integrated into Mail and starts filtering all incoming messages. If you want to launch the Personal Antispam X4 interface simply access it via the icon that is placed up in the menu bar by the clock which also allows you to check for updates.
Personal Antispam X4 does a fine job at catching the bulk of spam that you receive and places it in the spam folder. You will want to check the spam folder occasionally to see if it is marking legitimate emails as spam. If this happens just right click the message and select learn good email and it goes to your inbox. On the flip side if it misses a spam message you can right click it and select learn spam and it is then moved to the spam folder. You can easily delete all the messages by clicking the little mailbox icon in the menu bar that was added into Mail and select empty spam mailbox.

Personal Backup X4 is a great program for backing up your computer. It has a very nice clean, simple and intuitive interface. The best method of backup using Personal Backup X4 is the clone script. This makes an exact clone of your startup volume and this is best done to an external hard drive.
To clone your start up volume all you need to do is launch Personal Backup X4 from the little icon that is placed up in the menu bar by the clock with which you may also check for updates. Once Personal Backup X4 is open simply click the clone icon and then drag your Macintosh HD icon to the source side and the the icon for your external drive to the destination side and push the play button.
The time it takes depends solely on the type of drive USB or Firewire and the amount of data that you are backing up. It takes me approximately 2.5 hours to backup about 45GB of data. Once the script has finished you have an exact copy of your Macintosh HD on your external hard drive which is bootable.
As far as using the restore function it does a good job if you say backup one day and the next you delete some files you didn’t mean to then it restores the files back in no time. However if you are doing a fresh install of OS X then you will simply want to use the migration assistant when the installation asks if you want to.
