The Review:
Leopard is the new cat in town and you better look out as it is fierce. Leopard offers a wealth of new features. Leopard is a very well improved over Tiger.
Once I had received my copy of Leopard I immediately opened it up and began the installation process. I decided to let it just do all the defaults and upgrade from Tiger. The update only took about 30 minutes. Once it was complete I found the system a bit unstable and would lock up. So I ran the install again and completely wiped my hard drive and did a fresh install. The fresh install took about 45 minutes and when it was completed it ran flawlessly. However, I did an upgrade install on my parents computer and it worked without a hitch so there had to of been some kind of conflict that caused mine to have issues.
Leopard appears to boot up quicker than Tiger did as well as runs a bit faster in general. Without even going past the desktop when Leopard loads for the first time you can notice many of the upgrades. The new overall appearance, stacks, spaces and time machine.
Time machine offers a way to backup your system without much effort. Though if you want to backup your system with a bit more control I would suggest a third-party application.
Spaces is a great way to keep your work organized. By being able to go back and forth between spaces. With the addition of spaces it is easy to be doing many tasks at once without having a ton of windows on your desktop.
Stacks is a great new idea that allows you to easily browse what is in a folder from your dock. To add a stack all you need to do is drag a folder to the dock and it will link to the folders location and display the contents from the dock.
Overall I believe Leopard to be a great new overhaul of what was already a great operating system. Leopard comes in two different packs a single license and a family pack which is 5 licenses. Fission is an excellent program for your audio editing needs. Fission is not only a powerful audio editor it is also easy to use.
Fission is so simple to use after playing with it for a few minutes you can figure out how to do just about everything you can with it. The things you are having trouble figuring out can simply be solved by viewing the help guide.
Fission works great for removing unwanted audio from tracks. It also works great to make short clips of a specific part of your favorite songs and save them as a separate MP3 file which you then can so long as your phone and computer have bluetooth send the clip over and you have a new ringtone that you just created.
After running Fission for the first time it took me about 10 minutes to figure it out and then took me about another 10 minutes to create 5 or 6 music clips to be used as ringtones.
Overall Fission is an excellent audio editing program and is a very affordable solution with a minimal price tag of $32. Fission works beautifully for all the audio editing tasks that I have needed to work on so far and I highly recommend it.
