Ever wish you could monitor your sleeping habits to see just how good or bad you are actually sleeping? Then Dream Recorder 2 is for you. With Dream Recorder 2 and your iSight you can easily begin to monitor your sleep habits.
Dream Recorder 2 uses your iSight which may be an external one or the one built into all newer Macs. Using your iSight and some filtering Dream Recorder 2 can record you while you sleep. You need to place the iSight within 3 feet and make sure it is pointed at your upper body. Dream Recorder 2 then determines your sleep states by the movements it detects.
Dream Recorder 2 has the ability to play a sound or song somewhere in a specified timeframe which spans about an hour. So say you want to be up at 9am then you would set the range from 8-9am and Dream Recorder 2 will then determine the best time in that frame to play the sound or song to wake you up. It does this by determining the best point in your sleep cycle to wake you.
Dream Recorder 2 displays your sleep activity in a well presented graph. Your dream periods are lit up with a spot light. Dream Recorder 2 will also if you choose when you are dreaming play a sound so you can tell what your dreaming about and it will be recorded for you to playback at your convenience.
Overall Dream Recorder 2 is a great program. It does though have a minor drawback is that it is limited by your iSight and relies heavily upon correct positioning of the camera. While these are not directly the fault of Dream Recorder 2 it does affect it a bit as most people will not want to get a better iSight or other camera to use for this sole purpose.
